Doing it right, makes all the difference!
There are lots of ways to do the same thing, in all aspects of life, but none more than the phone repair industry. Take this simple repair for instance on the Google Pixel 5 phone. What sounds like a simple repair, replacing the battery, is now actually quite a chore with the process thats required to do it, but also do it correctly!
Gone are the days of swiping the back cover off, and popping out your battery like a remote control! Now theres glue, and glass, and risk involved!
The Pixel 5 is a device that requires the screen to come off to replace the battery. It sits neatly nestled inside the device, cuddled by the motherboard, a metal framework and some shielding. To access it, you need to remove the devices screen which is adhered to the frame with some pretty decent bonding, and doing this correctly is paramount in reducing the risk of damage to the device or the screen.
Using the correct parts should be the norm!
Once removed, the display will have now lost any water proffing the device claims to have had, and a lot of repair businesses will just use a generic contact cement to replace the broken factory seal. Whilst this is sufficient, I like to make sure my repairs are 100% perfect, and small details like using the genuine, factory produced seal tape makes sure that this device is as sealed, and secure as it can be.
